Since 1989 – Powerglaze History

Founding member Jim D Tait had a vision that one should be able wash and polish a vehicle without the conventional use of water. This vision became a reality, and in 1989 PowerGlaze Polishing Systems International was born, and the first mobile polishing company.

Primarily the company would come to you providing a mobile service, saving you time and money.

As Jim always said,”you do what you do best and leave the rest to us”.
At this stage I don’t feel the need to bore you with all the technical jargon of how the product works, however, should you be a “techy” or just feel the need to know more about the product you wish to invest in, then please click on “How It Works” . Anyway, back to the origins.

In 1997 Chris Zeeman (that’s me) and my brother Anthony joined Jim and his team as a franchise based in Cape Town. We served companies like Wheel Chrysler Jeep, Hyhundai South Africa, Ashley’s investment Cars, Bloomsbury Caridges, Thorp Delta, Rolo Motors, Andre Groenewald Motors not to mention hundreds of loyal clients in the private sector.

Soon after I realized that the traditional Car Wash industry was under utalised and way under developed. With this window of opportunity, I with Jim’s blessing opened up PowerGlaze Car Wash & Valet Centre Cape Town at the Sanlam Centre Parow now know as The Parow Centre.

Here we started to specialize in in the car wash industry and in the waterless industry (PowerGlaze), interior valets, polishing and more. It wasn’t long after that became the leaders in the industry and started to further specialize in non scratch foam washes, elevated bucket rinsing systems, aluminium rim revitalizing, head light revitalizing and much much more. In a nutshell we were an all under one roof valet shop.

Our mission has always been to put the needs of the customer first.
Don’t make the mistake about the customer always being right as this is not always the case, however he or she still remains king.

We are not machines, and can make mistakes, therefore we strive to exceed our clients expectations in every way. In the unintended eventuality of an unexpected flaw, we will always humbly rectify such flaw/mistake.
